PortraitJohn Roder is one of the commentators for the BBC’s main football programme “Match of the Day.” He joined MOTD in 2004 when Premiership highlights returned to the BBC; and was one of the commentators at the 2006 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

John has over twenty years experience of sports broadcasting, for both television and radio. He has commentated and presented programmes for television companies all over the world. In addition to the BBC he has worked for ITV, Channel 4, Sky Sports, Setanta Sports, Eurosport, ESPN Star Sports in Asia, Showtime in the Middle East and ESPN International, Setanta America and Fox Sports in the USA.

He was a regular voice for many years on BBC Radio 5 Live; and the Radio 1 breakfast show between 1995 and 1997. In addition he has frequently been heard on the BBC World Service.

 

PortraitAndy Steggall is an award winning television producer and presenter with over twenty-five years experience. He’s worked for Sky Sports, ITV Sport, GMTV, ITN, TWI, Channel 4, and Channel 5. He delivers media training programmes and works in marketing and sponsorship.

He’s directed, produced and executive produced many national and regional programmes including a 40 part series on grass roots sport (UcanDOit, Sky Sports) and a Royal Television Society recognised documentary about Shane Warne (Channel 4). He has led a production team which travelled the world filming a ski series (Ski Tips, ITV).

Judging Andy’s skills for a national sports journalism award, Ian Wooldridge says: “We have an outstanding winner as both front of house presenter and reporter and producer”.

Andy has fronted many sports and news programmes - never minded about very early mornings as sports presenter for both Channel 4 Daily and GMTV; or unusual locations as presenter of Conquer the Arctic (Channel 4). He’s ITV Meridian’s presenter for its football programmes and a main presenter for their evening news output, as well as regularly presenting on Sky Sports News.
